SAMBA welcomes you!

We are a grassroots organization made up of off-road cycling enthusiasts who live in the city or county of Sacramento, California.

Currently, the closest legal off-road cycling trails in our community of some one million people are near Folsom Lake, up near Auburn, or around El Dorado Hills.  Although Light Rail can get you to Folsom, it is not always bike friendly, particularly for large groups.  So mostly we drive, an unsustainable and increasingly expensive proposition.

We need trails in the urban core.  We have been advocating for this since 2004.  We have made tremendous progress.  We now have the opportunity to design and implement a trail plan for the Lower American River.  We need your help to do it.  Read more about it here.

We invite other community groups with an interest in creating a safer, more friendly lower American River to join us.  Our vision is a city where citizens can stay fit, meet friends and neighbors, and enjoy an intense natural experience right in their own backyard, without the need to get in a car and drive.
