World Model Constitution Project
Regional wars, like what we see all over Africa, consume massive amounts of natural resources, yet impoverish nearly everyone in their path. In many cases, some intervention would benefit all of humanity. If supra-national organizations are to successfully step into a conflict and demilitarize a zone, they need web-based tools to help a country rebuild.
The first step in building a democracy is writing a constitution. Basic concepts like separation of powers, accountability to the electorate, freedoms of speech, religion, etc., must be built in. Constitutions must adapt to unique situations or global trends. For instance:
- To embrace technology in the form of electronic voting town halls.
- To embrace sustainability issues, such as renewable power or clean transit.
